So in the summers, we spend our Saturday afternoons at a YMCA pool somewhere in the area. Grant swims for the Richardson Rapids, the competitive swim team at the Richardson YMCA. This was his second season on team and he really enjoys himself! He started swimming when he was 3 at an indoor facility just to learn how to maintain himself in his Gram's pool. Then the 2008 Olympics hit. Michael Phelps became Grant's hero. He wanted to be just like Michael and one day "beat him at swimming and get more medals than him". Fast forward a couple years- this season, Grant ended up with about a dozen or so place ribbons over 5 meets, including a couple from the district meet, and 5 medals at the state meet. His team even won the repeat of the Summer Division State Championship! My little fish has had a tremendous summer season, and as we go into the "off season" (if there ever were one in this house), we look towards next summer when he plans to get even more ribbons and medals and keep his olympic spirit alive!!

Everybody's Doing It...
So even though I tell my kids that they don't have to do everything that everyone else does, here I am, writing a blog. Why? Because everybody's doing it....
This will chronicle my continuing saga of raising boys- currently 3 of them to be exact. Welcome to my zoo of scouts/sports/school/church/doctors/and whatever else comes along!
